Changing of the Guard

Posted on 27 January, 2016 at 0:00 Comments comments (0)

Recently a friend and I have been supporting each other through a situation we both found ourself in.

She messaged me with an epiphany she had received which was; the reason we were making the change (which meant no longer having a person in our lives) was because our vibration had transformed to a higher level.

This vibration adjustment meant that we had now transcended what that person could teach us and the change was needed in order to bring in another who could teach us on our new level.

This got me thinking about how there are people come into our lives only to leave, and most people are without understanding this has happened because they have transcended the person or they us. That when this happens we (or they) cannot grow any further with that person.

Sometimes we want to hold on for fear of what letting go may mean and stay in situations which make us unhappy & depress our energy. Sometimes we hold on via means of trying to hurt the person for leaving us.

Change of all kinds can involve the grieving process and that is normal. They key is to not allowing yourself to get stuck.

Take some time today to explore the areas of your life, who or what are you holding on to that is no for your higher good. Where are you blocking your own transcendence?

Adrenal Fatigue

You may be suffering adrenal fatigue if you regularly experience one or more of the following:

  1. Feel tired for no reason
  2. Have trouble getting up in the morning, even when you've had 8+ hours sleep
  3. Are or feel rund own
  4. Having difficulty bouncing back from stress or illness
  5. Craving salty and/or sweet snacks
  6. Unable to focus or experiencing memory difficulties
  7. Suffering PMS syptoms
  8. Feeling that you are unable to handle any more stress
  9. Suffering from dizziness
  10. Feel anxious
  11. Coping mechanism is short
  12. Constantly over thinking

Our adrenal glands are located on top of our kidneys and their role is to produce hormones (such as adrenaline & cortisol) that assist us in managing / regulating: our reaction to stress, body temperature, blood sugar levels and blood pressure.

Adrenal fatigue results when the adrenal glands function below their optimal working levels. Adrenal fatigue often results when a person has been exposed to an intense stressful event or endured prolonged stress.

Stress can occur in many ways, typically from being overloaded with life pressures, high workloads &/or feeling trapped and helpless. Stress can also result from illness, poor diet, substance abuse, not getting enough sleep as well as not taking sufficient time out.

There are a few actions you can take to assist your body in alleviating Adrenal Fatigue, such as:

  •  Increase your intake of Vitamin C & Vitamin B5
  •  Drink water with electrolytes
  •  Take herbs with adaptogens (ginseng, rhodiola, liquorice root or ashwaghandha
  •  Meditate
  •  Reduce or eliminate stimulants (caffeine, alchohol, nicotine, late night TV)
  •  Eat food in its most natural state or unprocessed foods
  •  Use a good quality, unprocessed salt (Himalayan or Celtic sea salt)
  •  Take time out
  •  Have a Reiki healing session or Kinesiology balance!

Maintaining Boundaries

Posted on 26 January, 2016 at 23:55 Comments comments (0)

Boundaries are the perimeter which you have, &/or need to have, that make you feel empowered, joyful, at peace and in alignment with your true self. Due to our beliefs and values, boundaries will differ for each person and, as long as they do not purposefully hurt another, are never right or wrong.

Boundaries determine:

• the degree in which we will allow someone into our personal space ( being your physical, emotional and spiritual aspects);

• the nature of treatment and behaviour that we find acceptable and appropriate

• what we allow or disallow

What makes it difficult for people to communicate their boundaries is because they don’t want to offend or upset the other person, preferably upsetting them self. Dr John Demartini, a modern day philosopher, calls this the Law of Lesser Pissers – who would you prefer to piss off, yourself or another? Most people allow themselves to be pissed off and it is senseless how we will readily upset our own being, allow our self to feel taken advantage of, to be offended or even angry, rather than the possibility of maybe offending another. Noting the word possibility.

Another reason people don’t communicate their boundaries is due to their lack of self worth. Due to not valuing themselves adequately people fail to convey their peripheries and give permission (unconsciously) to others to reinforce their lack of value.

It is important to note here that often we treat others through our own boundaries, i.e. of what we consider to be appropriate. Therefore at times some people don’t realising they are overstepping the mark, which reinforces the importance that we communicate what IS appropriate for us, as it helps another to have awareness of our boundaries.

It is my belief that when we speak from a positive heart space we cannot go wrong and if what is said is done with the right intentions then it is a positive learning opportunity for both parties.

Noting in the instance we say something (with the right intention and in the right way), and the other person gets upset then it is more than likely they have an issue which is coming up to give them an opportunity to own and dissipate.

If we are not clear about our boundaries, then others cannot be either. We need to know our boundaries and honour them, in turn valuing our self. We also need to know which of our boundaries are not negotiable and which ones we are willing to bend & to what degree.

We can take this learning further outside ourselves to others. Know most people are working on their ability to voice their needs, so we are able to tell when we have crossed another's boundaries by picking up on subtleties, such as when someone withdraws or goes quiet, perhaps they have a rush of emotion, or their face changes colour i.e. reddens.

Respecting another is respecting yourself and empowering all.

Grounding is the process of connecting yourself to the earthly plane, bonding with mother earth and knowing you have your place on this plan. Native American’s believe that mother earth is the source of all life and is a great teacher to be observed, listened to and respected. Her energy is nurturing and restoring, assisting us to bring and give life to our hopes, dreams and ideas.

Just as in electrics, grounding acts as a safety switch keeping us safe from being energetically overloaded from the spiritual plane.

We are spiritual beings (who are having an earthly experience) and even though most of us are not aware of it we often receive information, guidance and inspiration from above. However if we are not grounded, none of that is able to take form nor channelled into something of structure.

Grounding also empowers your work (whether it is of a spiritual nature or not) as puts the physical and spiritual bodies into alignment. When we ground we too bring unyielding strength to our being, enabling us to take necessary action.

The act of grounding also allows us to bring our spiritual messages or divine guidance into existence so that we can communicate or create what the divine is imparting to us.

Another characteristic of grounding is that you can release (ground into mother earth) unwanted energy or negativity as well as excess energy. Mother earth works in such as way where will take that energy and transform it or utilise it.

How do I ensure I’m Grounded?

A good indication that you are not grounded is if you have a sensation of being “spaced out” and are uncommonly forgetful or clumsy. Also, if you are finding yourself sensitive to noise and light, it too can be an indication of being ungrounded.

It is advised that your ground yourself daily or at the very least once a week. Trust your intuition as to how often you need this. In essence grounding assist you in being more present in life, therefore if you are having difficulty in being present – ground yourself!

Stand with your feet apart and your arms relaxed by your side. Feel/see the trunk of your body and your legs become the trunk of a huge tree, feel your feet become heavy “sinking” into the ground, noticing that your toes have become tree roots delving deep into the mother earth, connecting you with her.

You become aware that foliage has sprouted from the top of your head and that your arms too have become branches. You now resemble a huge oak tree or blue gum if you prefer, you are now connected with both Father Sky and Mother Earth, balanced between both.

A very quick and simple way of grounding is putting your hands in earth, whether than be re-potting an indoor plant or getting outside and doing some gardening. Alternatively allow your feet to make contact with mother earth by walking bare foot on the beach or in the garden.

Observe the texture, sensations and feeling at it touches your hands or feet and allow yourself to become child like with it (i.e. not caring about being ‘dirty’;).

Another simple way to ground is finding a place in nature which you find special and allow yourself to sit and be. Heighten your awareness and look around you, permit yourself to see what is not visible to the ‘naked’ eye.

Find a place where you can have a few moments by yourself and sit with your feet firmly on the ground.

See or feel at your base chakra a deep ball of red spinning slowly, sit with the energy of that ball for a moment.

Now see (or feel) two rods of red light come out from the ball and travel down to your knees, pausing briefly. Next allow the energy to continue its journey moving down your shins to your ankles, down through the bottoms of your feet to connect deep with the core of mother earth.

See two huge boulders to which the cords tie themselves, allow the cords to wrap around the bolder and tie them off. When you are ready bring yourself back to the room knowing that you are now connected strongly with this plane.

Stand with your feet hip width apart & press your feet firmly onto the ground and bend your knees coming into a semi squatting position. Stay there until you stop swaying & are standing strong.
